About Us
Established in 1994, Saint Louis MHB is an independent government taxing authority administering two special property taxes: the Community Mental Health Fund and the Community Children’s Services Fund. Tax dollars are granted to non-profit organizations to provide high quality services that benefit City residents.
Funding
MHB improves the quality of life for City residents by investing in a coordinated system of behavioral health services aligned with community priorities. There are several ways funding is given: competitive grants, funding partnerships, permanent supportive housing and strategic initiatives.
Partnerships
MHB supports over 45 non-profit service providers so that more high quality, accessible services are available to City residents. MHB subscribes to the vision of a future in which provider-funder relationships reflect strong partnerships that lead to meaningful, long-lasting, positive change for the St. Louis region.
