MHB Annual Report | FY22

Permanent Supportive Housing Initiative

FY22 represents the 11th year that MHB has invested in the St. Louis community through its Permanent Supportive Housing initiative (PSH). Since its establishment in 2011, MHB has funded 22 permanent supportive housing projects through an investment of $4,130,892 to create 239 new PSH units in the City of St. Louis.

No new projects were funded in FY22. However, $500,000 of the over $4 million committed remains to support new projects in FY23 and the need remains high. There are many individuals and families that find themselves struggling not only with homelessness, but because they may have serious and persistent behavioral health and/or health issues that may include substance use, mental illness, and HIV/AIDS. Following the utilization of the remaining funding in FY23 or later, MB's Housing Committee will evaluate its impact in the creation of new units of permanent supportive housing and in conjunction with community needs and priorities, determine if and what type of future investments to support individuals in recovery are merited.
