Marcia has 35+ years’ experience in Education, working at every level of the educational spectrum from preschool to college. While her degrees focus more on media communications and special event planning over the years, she has found ways to enhance those experiences in areas of early childhood education, family literacy, training and development and organizational management.
In her current role as a Family Engagement Liaison for Beyond Housing, she gets to utilize her passion for working with families, particularly young women, and children daily at the Normandy Early Learning Center. She has held many board positions at Empower Missouri, Ready Readers, and the Wesley House. She is very involved with her church, where she spearheads their strategic plan and volunteers with other community agencies that support education, social justice and women’s initiatives. She is a proud wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 5. She resides in the West End neighborhood, Ward 10.
